The Care Quality Commission (CQC) are the independent regulators of health and social care services in England. The CQC regularly inspect our service to ensure that we are safe, effective, caring, responsive to people’s needs and well-led.
These 5 key areas are used throughout Sussex Empowered Living as a foundation upon which services are designed, developed and improved. We endeavour to not only achieve but surpass the CQC fundamental standards through the use of our comprehensive Quality and Compliance Assurance Programme, which includes, but is by no means limited to:
- Quality and compliance audits
- Quality Improvement Surveys for Service Users, their wider formal and informal support networks and staff
- Annual apraisal and monthly professional supervisions for all staff
- Formal staff meetings
- Service reviews
Our Quality and Compliance Assurance Programme is designed to provide insight into how we can improve our service, not only in the big obvious areas but also the small, and some might say unimportant, areas that we believe are essential to ensure the provision of a highly personalised, quality service.
It is important to us at Sussex Empowered Living that the people we support and our staff have the opportunity to influence the service we provide. We strongly encourage those under our care and support and our staff to discuss our service and provide ideas for the shaping and improvement of it. Through this approach we are able to utilise the individual strengths of all concerned to provide a quality, outcomes focused service that is flexible, adaptable to change and reflective of the needs, wants and desires of the users of our service and our staff.
